BIOSOL pre plant fertilization with subsequent applications of liquid worm castings
Hi Mike,
I am attaching the first two of several photos
showing the progress so far this season. These are
Ed's Millennium, which are an heirloom variety
similar to a Brandywine. In the past, the
Verticillium typically appears when the plants
(planted in the same location) are about 3' tall.
These plants are now about 5.5' tall and should top
7' (top of wire cage). Since we have for many years
planted the Brandywines and now switched to the Ed's
Millennium, I can't say if the delayed development
of the Verticillium is due to your products or the
change of variety. Both Ed's and Brandywine are
heirloom varieties and my expectation was that the
infection would manifest itself at the same time.
What IS odd however is that the un-sprayed plant has
almost no evidence of Verticillium and the sprayed
one has the most! Both are obviously healthy though.
I will know more as season progresses.

HI Mike and John,
Bob has been one of my test gardens in Rancho Santa Fe California for the last 5
years. He has since converted to organic gardening. He sent me this report, I
thought you guys would be interested since your products are being used in the
garden. Steve Goto- Gototomato
OUOTE:
I thought that I would drop you a note to let you know how my garden grows. So
far, so good. All the tomato plants are healthy. A couple have some yellow
spotted leaves but they seem to be growing well. We have had a month of cool
weather so not many plants have set fruit yet. I am hopeful that this year will
be better than last. I am really happy that
you forced me to adopt the organic fertilizers. They work much better than the
chemicals. They seem to make the plants grow better and the fertilizer
applications seem to last longer. I am a convert. When I run out of the
fertilizer that you gave me I will need to know how and where to buy this stuff
at the right price in large bags. I will give you a report on the various tomato
varieties that I have planted this year when there is something to report. Until
then, I hope that all is well with you. If you find yourself in my area, please
stop by for a cup of coffee or glass of wine.

Mike - I hope you remember me, my name is Mary Loeza and my co-gardener and I received worm castings, liquid worm castings and BIOSOL from you to help our community garden. We are using the garden to teach my children about where food comes from, now with the worm castings they are learning how excellent nutrients help plant growth.
We planted our first crops and they did excellent. Now we are in tomato season and we are growing tomatoes, zucchini, watermelon, cantelope, chilis, green beans, flowers and we still have some onions in too. Our tomatoes are really growing as if they are on steroids. There is one plant that came up from a seed left last year,(a dried up tomato that got back into the dirt) and it is about 5 feet tall and 5 feet around with a zillion flowers on it. We are amazed. I am not 100% sure if this is how powerful the worm castings are but I am sure they helped.
I don't have the most recent pictures but here are some taken a couple weeks ago. Oh and our zucchini, so far we have gotten about 25 medium sized ones and we only have 5 plants - I am spreading the word about the worm castings since I am sharing the zucchini with my co-workers.

Hi Michael Castro,You were wanting me to let you know how everything worked out on the Biosol with my tomatoes Considering I started so late in the Year with the Biosol, So here It Is.In June of 07 I ordered some Biosol from you. I'm writing you to let you know the results on my tomatoes. I have been raising tomatoes in the same 30 x 40' garden for years. Although I rotated them in the garden every year they started to get the tomato wilt. I ordered the Biosol from you and did what you said to do (considering it was late in the year) and it worked. Out of Fourteen plants I had only one Die from the Wilt. I also had a Bumper Crop and had tomatoes up till two weeks before Thanksgiving. I also found a place to buy the Biosol from Hodges Nursery Its about 45 miles North of where I live. I would like to thank you for all of your help and advice and for shipping the Biosol to me in June. Great Product!!!! Very satisfied!Thank YouCarl HodgesMarysville,Ca.

Liquid Worm Castings Seed Treatments
Eggplant Seeds were soaked in Liquid Worm Castings before sowing. All of these seeds were planted at the same time. The smaller plants in the foreground were untreated and the larger plants were treated. The germination was much faster, and the number of seedlings that germinated was higher. The development afterwards was very pronounced. Seeds can benefit from a drenching in Liquid Worm Castings before seeding.

LIQUID WORM CASTINGS ROOT DIP OF TRANSPLANTS STIMULATES GROWTH
The Perpetual Pesto plant on the left was not treated and the larger plant on the right was dipped in Liquid Worm Castings before transplanting.

These were the symptoms of "Heirloom" tomatoes infected with Fusarium Wilt in Del Mar California

1. Grower Robert Ramp, Mike Castro-SOS and Biologist Ron Baniaga. 2. Base of plant showing active fungus.3. Infected stems.
Comments: Almost 100% of the plants in Robert's Garden were infected to some degree, and some had to be pulled out completely. The best recommendation would have been to pull out the whole garden and plant a different type of crop that is not affected by Fusarium for at least three years. The varieties are mostly Heirloom types furnished by Steve Goto's nursery and are open-pollinated and usually susceptible since they are varieties that were collected prior to inbred resistance by hybridizing.
Steve Goto and Mike Castro. Steve is one of the most well known and knowledgeable people when it comes to heirloom vegetable production and varieties.
Treatments: TRUNK SPRAY and foliage mixed at 5:1

We sprayed
Liquid
Worm Castings Tea directly onto the stems and all over the plant at a 5:1 mix
with water and Yucca Extract. We also treated the soil with a 1" Layer of
Wormagic Castings and Compost Mix and then applied a soil drench with a 5:1
mixture.
Luis Arvizu applying the Castings Plus Mix at the base of the plant.
Luis applying Liquid Castings as a Soil Drench.
Luis applies Soil Drench in a hole being prepared for new plants.

The stem lesions have completely dried and no active fungus is present. The stem has suberized and even though there was some girdling effect, the plants are still actively growing with fruit up to 3" in diameter as of 6/03/06. We expect a good harvest.
One happy grower!
Additional Comments: The treatment will continue every two weeks until harvest is well underway. Where completely dead plants were pulled out, a treatment with solid worm castings mixed with compost and liquid castings was done and susceptible varieties will be planted right back in the same holes to see if there is still fungus present. We will present a follow up when the results are in!
TOMATO UPDATE! 6/17/06
The plants are still doing fine and continue to grow with full production due in about two weeks.

These are the plants re-planted in the same hole where the previous plants were pulled because of the damage from the Fusarium wilt.

AND STILL GROWING! Extensions had to be added to trellis the plants.
TOMATO UPDATE July 22, 2006
Excellent Heirloom Tomato production!!

AND STILL GROWING!!

Del Mar California March 11, 2007. Our grower, Robert Ramp, treated all of the ground with Wormagic Liquid worm castings and BIOSOL 7-2-3.
Excellent results this year. Pictures taken 7/21/2007
Biosol 7-2-3 vs Triple 16 Osmocote
Using Worm Castings Plus as a Topdressing at Coronado Island Golf Course
A tee box on hole # 13 was direct seeded and Worm Castings plus compost and rock mineral was matted in over the seed on the left hand side. On the right hand, the normal compost without castings was used. Note that there is approx. 1-1/2" more root growth on the castings side after only 45 days!
Skyline Golf Club Valley Center California
Symptoms: Due to a high water table and many years of petroleum based fertilizer use, the drainage on this fairway was non-existent. French drains had to be installed up to 3 feet deep just to get water to run off of the fairway. The pH in some areas was above 9 and the electrical conductivity was also excessively high. The ground was compacted with a black strata or "slick" caused by the deflocculation from the anerobic bacteria activity that had taken over. This slick was impenetrable and irrigation had to be cut way down to the point where the grass could not survive. There was still some dormant bermuda that could be rescued.
Treatment: The Superintendent aerated the entire fairway taking out "plugs".

Fairway After Aeration. Some areas were completely bald with no grass at all and would need to be re-seeded eventually.

Treatment Materials:
The fairway was treated with WORMagic Liquid Worm Castings with Yucca Extract Biosol 7-2-3 Organic Granular Fertilizer and 1 application of Liquid Gypsum through the irrigation system.

Penetration was re-established after the pH was buffered with the aerobic microbe activity re-established, and this is the fairway after 3 months and is now ready for re-seeding. Notice the boulders for point of reference.

There are still some salt pockets, but these will be filled in with the re-seeding. The grass that exists is the Bermuda that was dormant.
WORMagic Liquid Castings and WORMagic Biosol 7-2-3 Combination Growth Response in Nursery Plants
El Plantio Nursery Escondido, California
In the following photos, Liquid Worm Castings were applied as a "Soil Drench" mixed at 5 parts water and 1 part Tea and applied to healthy growing plants at the nursery. The Biosol granular fertilizer was applied by hand at a rate of approx 1/3 cup per 8" pot. We chose these plants because there was a noticeable difference in the stage of growth and color of the three rows on the right. Notice the size and color compared to the plants on the left. There is no disease or other growth factors and all the plants are healthy. The object was to demonstrate the growth response to the combination application of WORMagic Liquid Worm Castings and Biosol 7-2-3 Granular Organic Fertilizer.
May 23, 2006

The Liquid Castings "Tea" was applied as a "Drench" at 5:1 by SOS Sales Manager Luis Arvizu and El Plantio owner Bill Snapp.

This follow up picture was taken on June 5, 2006. Not for any particular reason, but we just happened to be there on this date, but "Green Up" probably occurred after about 8 days. notice the size and color of the three rows on the right compared to the "Before " photo.

Treatment of Olive Trees in Landscape with Extreme Clay Soils
These trees were transplanted in the landscape of a large estate in Southern California. Due to the extreme clay soil, there the trees struggled to get established and some were lost to Root Rot. The tree were treated with WORMAGIC Liquid worm castings on the trunks and leaves and the soil was also drenched with the mixture along with the addition of BIOSOL Fertilizer and SOIL PICK CLAYBUSTER. Before Left, After Right.
